Working Parties: Newsletter, Complaints, Brizlincote in Bloom
About me: I moved to Brizlincote, from Nottingham, in 1998 and have lived in the same house with my wife since we arrived. When I was in employment, I spent nearly all my working life in the Transport Industry. The company I worked for built a multi million pound depot on Fradley Park Industrial Estate and I had had a major role to play in getting it built. I was a Senior Manager there with responsibility for Customer Service, National Purchasing and both property and vehicle maintenance and scheduling. It was a demanding, varied and busy role and I worked some long hours (17 on one day as I recall) but I very much enjoyed what I did and had great satisfaction from doing it. I am an Employee Nominated Trustee for the “Defined Benefits” pension scheme there.
I have been retired for a few years now and this has given me the time and opportunity to become more involved in local matters. I have an allotment in the Parish where I grow a few flowers (just for the bees really) but mainly vegetables. You cannot beat the flavour, freshness and taste of your own produce.
