East Side Art Competition (ESAC) is our annual Parish Council funded art competition, which is open to students at schools in our local and wider community. The Parish Council invites local schools to take part, with different categories available for infant, junior and senior school years.
Since 2017 when we first introduced the competition, we have received hundreds of wonderful entries from the talented children at the schools which take part. Each age group is provided with a brief, and are able to produce their art work in any medium they choose. ESAC 2019 saw the introduction of a new photographic category, which we hope will flourish in the years to come.
Once the Parish Council collects the entries, they are exhibited at The Brewhouse. They are on display for a short time for members of the public to view, and then the competition culminates with an awards presentation ceremony. The entrants are invited, along with their families, to attend The Brewhouse where the Mayor judges the entries and selects finalists for each category. The winners are presented with certificates and prizes.
